Anyway the Have-We-Mettes had a show this weekend - it was a lot of fun and I wanted to share some of the recordings of it - not the greatest sound quality but still neat.

Songwriting!
It's been a very busy semester already for my bands! I'm in the midst of writing a whole slew of new songs for the Have-We-Mettes and am very excited to finish them so I can share them with you beautiful people! I'm also in the process of recording some songs with my other band, the Original Mavericks! So I don't have a lot of new stuff to share, but a ton is on its way!
In the meantime, here's a previous Have-We-Mettes song. I'm proud of it!

Covers
First of all, let me just mention that Harrison's last post was the coolest! And I hope to see more book art and/or have that be a class at CRCAP next summer.
These are just some covers the Have-We-Mettes have done over the past couple of years. We recorded a version of my favorite Ronettes song, "He Did It" - the biggest change from the original was Rosalie's very cool vocal riff at the end of the song. We did about 20+ takes of that with me yelling different inspirations through the sound booth wall, but I think the one that appears on the final track here was the third or fourth we recorded.
And, just for fun, here's a cover of Tik Tok recorded live from one of our shows. We pride ourselves on this cover being both slower and faster than the original. Pretty silly, but fun times nonetheless.

A Bizarre Song?
OK, here's a Have-We-Mettes track we wrote that most of you probably have not heard. We (Lulu, Julie and I) wrote it at 3 a.m. in the science building when we were supposed to be studying, so it's really just a bunch of dumb jokes about a put-upon housewife with no deep meaning or particularly complex ideas. Melody's kind of catchy, though. Listen/Download away!

As a bonus, here's my two favorite parts of "The Music of Erich Zann" soundtrack in soundcloud form. Harrison says it's the best way to do it! I trust him. Download them, they'll be perfect for your workout mix! (False.)

A Scary Movie?

Hello, friends.
I'm going to be posting on here from time to time to share some of my various projects with you beautiful people!
Last year, my roommate and frenemy Kyle McKloskey decided to make a scary movie based on an H.P. Lovecraft short story he liked. He did it in the old silent movie style, and asked me to write a soundtrack. Now, it's impossible to fully recreate the experience of the movie premiere, since the violinist and I actually performed the score live at the first weekend's screenings, but we recorded the music later on and synched it to the video so anyone can check it out.
It was tough writing a full half-hour of music, and an even bigger challenge trying to create some unearthly sounding music without the aid of loops or sonic effects other than those available on violin and piano, but I think it came out well, or at least . . . interesting.
Full Movie (27 minutes . . . watch it in the dark!)
Preview (2 minutes . . . if you're too busy!)
